Blondes vs. Brunettes Raleigh is hosting a fundraiser Blonde Beer Olympics at Lucky B’s on Sunday, May 19 from 1pm until 6pm. Come out for cornhole and beer pong, pool, flip cup, skeeball, foosball, boxing, and more – all for a great cause… raising money to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.

2012 Glenwood South Global Streetfair
SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, October 13 – Glenwood South to Host First Ever Family-Friendly Global Street Fair and Restaurant Competition
On Saturday, October 13, Glenwood South will close for the first ever Global Fare street festival between West Jones and Tucker Street from noon until 6pm. The family friendly event will highlight the diverse smorgasbord of ethnic cuisine, boutiques, and music venues on Glenwood South, and feature:
- Iron Chef restaurant competition
- International street performances and live bands
- Cabbage Patch children’s venue
- Vendor Bazaar (styled like a Barcelona street market)
- Battle of the Bars drink special competition
Sponsored by Pepsi, 96Rock, and the Raleigh Downtowner, the festival will showcase the various chefs along Glenwood, giving them the chance to compete for the coveted title of ‘Glenwood South Global Chef.’ The event will also feature live performances and a children’s venue with face painting, hula-hoops, DJ video games, as well as cameos from local celeb guests.
A joint effort between the Glenwood South Merchants Association, Downtown Raleigh Alliance, and Legacy Event Planners, this festival provides an opportunity for Raleigh residents to enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of Glenwood South while supporting the locally owned and operated merchant businesses throughout the street.
